Child with work

Great Aves is a UK registered charity, which works around the globe to help raise educational standards in rural areas. Based in the UK, creative thinking and continuity is at the heart of the organization’s work.

The Charity Sector in the Recession

Much has been made of the global recession, with job losses, difficulties in obtaining credit, and the closure of famous brands, banks and businesses. Every case is unique, but how has the recession affected the charity sector?

Achievements & Goals

A little bit of help goes a long way in rural areas in developing countries. We have compiled a selection of our past achievements at our projects, and our goals for the future.

History

Great Aves was formed on the 22nd June 2007 as a non-profit organization in the United Kingdom. The organisation began by founding a teaching project in the Amazon region of Ecuador. It is known as the Arajuno Road Project, and it opened its doors on the 31st of March 2008. In January 2010 Great Aves was granted charity status by the Charities Commission for England and Wales.

Overview

At Great Aves, our mission is to raise educational standards worldwide. The Arajuno Road Project, our maiden project in Amazonian Ecuador, serves the local community by providing the knowledge, expertise, and volunteers necessary to achieve a lasting positive impact. The project consists of the teaching program, aimed at assisting local schools, and the new community development program, aimed at educating local community members about the benefits of environmentally sustainable practices.
